Fabric, Food, & Friends: All Day Open Sew & Potluck

🧵 A Day of Sewing & Sharing
Whether you’re looking to master a complex pattern or just want to enjoy the rhythmic hum of sewing machines in good company, this event is for you! Join us for a day dedicated to creativity, community, and craft.
🪡 What’s on the Bobbin?
- Work on Your WIP: Bring your latest project and your machine. If you’re stuck on a tricky collar or a complex gusset, you’re in luck—there will be experienced makers on hand sharing Intermediate & Complex Sewing Tips to help you level up.
- Sew for a Cause: No project? No problem! We’re hosting a Charity Sew-a-Thon. Help us assemble: Lounge Pants for Reese’s LairWear, or Ditty Bags for the Seamen’s Church Institute (seamenschurch.org).
- The Social Stitch: Not in a “maker” mood? Come for the Networking & Chat. We’d love to catch up and see what’s been inspiring you lately.
🍲 Community Potluck
We invite you to participate in our shared lunch. To help us coordinate a balanced meal, please consider bringing a dish from one of the following categories:
- Main Dishes: Hearty options such as quiches, sandwiches, or casseroles.
- Sides & Salads: Fresh greens, pasta salads, or seasonal fruit.
- Desserts: Easy-to-serve treats like cookies or brownies.
- Note on Safety: Please include a small card with your dish listing ingredients to assist those with food allergies or sensitivities.
📍 Preparations for the Day
- Equipment: Please bring your sewing machine, power cord/foot pedal and an extension cord.
- Notions: Ensure you have fabric shears, pins, extra bobbins, and thread appropriate for your project.
- Potluck: A dish to share and any necessary serving utensils.
We can’t wait to see what you create (and what you cook)!
(Location TBD, but we will be at either the Koelbel Public Library or the Sheridan Public Library)
